Pride

"You know what they say:  You can't teach a gay dog straight tricks."
Trey Parker & Matt Stone

Sunday Pride.  Needed to do yoga am and kettlebell pm blowout, but could not stand thought of leaving B alone. Email EH about whether it's ok if he comes and being the sweetheart she is it's of course so we pack up and hit Equinox for an 11:00 start. Thinking light crowd with pride but hah ! It's packed by 10:50; drop two mats in the back row, B looks baffled.  There is an empty mat next to B and I am a little worried.  JB comes in at the last second, cheers "alright !" and drops down next to B and gives him a big smile.  He grins back and we are off to it.
He rocked it.  EH described him later as sweet and fearless, spot on. He was oved it. After that, an hour of Pride parade (best float PETA, buxom ladies in skimpy lettuce leaf bikinis carrying sign that say "eat me !") Up to ct for hour class. She is in a z health state of mind and we do a lot of visual drills and simple movement training and it's just about perfect. B getting restless toward end, load him up and head up to Anne's and watch Jeremy Affelt pitch to six batters, striking out five. Breaking ball untouchable and Cleveland hitters screwing themselves into the dirt. Threat response in the major leagues, you could see it in the way they walked to the plate.

Monday
Back in for EH late, good though one foot on right still a little weak re heel.
Tuesday
Crippling head cold feel like shit. Nothing except five hours of CEB.
Wednesday
Four miles on elliptical listening to CEB, that's it. There is is reason I stopped this, it's fucking boring. Night and almost finished with 12 hour course. Good stuff.  But feeling like shit by end of the day, not a little bit like shit, but major bronchial event requiring powerful anti-biotics fuck up the training wipe out your body kind of shit.  Up late to finish off CEB, sigh.
Thursday
Go back for more elliptical CEB fun; forgot shoes. Sigh. Quiet morning but its not gonna last, still feeling like shit. Gotta get through 5.75 hours of MCLE and bill, FML.
5:00, b is at Anne's. Plaintive email to ct; parked in front of her studio listening to MCLE programs, calls it to Marina Green. Great. Show up. Combination of cold it's all really not very good except the alphabet catch and tennis ball. Training has hit a very poor stretch the last three weeks and the ball drills were a really good change-up.
Friday
AM
But for ball drills last night feel as disconnected from body as have in a long time. Way too stressed with fuck-up (now fixed) last week and belated CEB finished night before with 89 min to spare.  In for headstands, crap. Frogstands ok. Bu stuff, crap. Resist urge to curl up in fetal position and give up.
Just slow down and get on hands and knees. Better. Bird dog in plank. Rock solid. One side bird dog, focus Lat and tricep. Good. Single arm planks. Excellent. More bird dog in plank. Feeling human again, back to bu. Double 24 bu cleans good. Single 24 bu presses both sides strong. A couple of real slow double 16 alternating bu press sets, 10 reps total. Ready to rejoin the living.

Really light day which for once is a relief.
In for 4:30 Pradeep. Been awhile and first ten minutes not great. Finish really strong and smoking class, not fast but hard hard hard, all plank variations and high lunge, laying it out triangle at end is blessed relief and in reverse get right hand outside of left foot for the first time.  He is the best.

Saturday
Into sf, dropping money and children all the way down 101.  Into Equinox for first good kettlebell blowout in a week.
10016kg swing warm-up
Press ladders, usual long cycle twin 20 up to 32
10 front squats twin 20's
20 24kg renegade rows
10 24kg bootstrap squats
3x
5-1 24kg single arm swing descending ladder to TGU, x 5.
All that pretty good considering how fucking spaced out the days before.
Go collect ct and head to Purisima with the rest of banana slugs.  Three hour 1000 foot gain, six plus miles and by the end of it felt re-grounded, rewired and rejuvinated, after two weeks of sucking.
Pretty much like that.

Fat lady in New Leaf looks at the VFF:  "Don't you need arch support ?  I sure would and lots of it."
That's cause you're killing yourself with 150 extra pounds lady.  It's not your feet, it's what you are shoveling into your mouth.  This is why our health care system is broken.
Sunday
Feel great after yesterday.  Walk, bathe dog.  Make ribs.

Enjoy one of the greatest queers ever . . . way early on, wow . . .

Listen to more Elton John at Wolfgang's Vault.
