Old Dogs

Benchley drank a lot and died at 56.  Try not to follow suit.  Old dogs can learn new tricks.  Jamie and Adam proved it.

Friday, 5/28, three miles.
Saturday, feel like shit.  Nothing.  Don't do well alone.
Sunday, clean house.  Then into ct class first in a month.  It rocks, good long wall push-up set, swings and presses.  Good drill instructor and a hoot to boot.
Monday, more cleaning.  Watch Grip 'n Rip and bake cookies.  Then out back and:

Friday, hit the gym at 9:30, work till 1:45.  Then
5+5 pushup to 24kg renegade row x 2
sls 5+5, 25, 35, 45 lb plates
Press 1-3 24kg ladder, to 1+1 32.  Stick on right, 1 on left.
12+12 step back lunges, 40 lb barbell
20 24kg swings x 10, active rest as follows:
1-3, 1+1 TGU, 12 kg BU
4-6, 1+1 24kg TGU
7-9, 5 double 16kg bu cleans
intro ic swings session with ct.  Nice of her, good shoulder work, something new to work on.  Light dinner after get home by 6:30.  5 drops by and we throw the ball for Rose and chat.  Brigid calls me at 10 to pick her up from dance, she dives into the back seat, in dress, make-up, bare shoulders:  "I look like an Easter basket."  She looks great, strong, total jockette.  Make her get up to front seat and she stops being so self-conscious and chatters on.  Late night Buffy fest.
Saturday, up and into sf for for drenching 90 minute flow class with MH, good.
Ten minutes on moves 1 and 2 with ic.
pm, walk with Ian and Rose.  Ian spots a huge gopher snake swimming in the marsh, lost in the qik video, we watch as it swims across widest portion.  Marsh looks so healthy now; cry for Louisiana.
Dinner at Anne's, Brigid on the deck in Peru hat.  We get home and watch Butch and Sundance, Ian is game, Brigid complaining:  "Give it 15."  She loves it.
Today, up early and five hours of work, shop, bail on ct, should have sucked it up but the thought of 90 minutes driving just unappealing.
So get outside, and do it asshole.

Press work

Feels great all three circuits, 32kg goes up on left clean first two, second try third, need to start pressing for more reps.  Best press circuits ever.

20 tactical lunges, 20kg.  Awful first two, good last cause so disgusted.

400 swings.  Grip fucking shot by end of 24.  Seeking relief in 20, does not come until sets 18-20 with the 16 when I can finally start alternating.  Cruise through last 60 reps, then gassed.

Throughout entire week continue gtg on bup and sls, getting better.  Don't stop, be a good dog.
